test_time_timout is failing on our system: https://github.com/curoverse/arvados/blob/c0b20a7035f2a18e54fec4ec7901de5a41280489/services/nodemanager/tests/test_failure.py#L50-L55
It seems likely to be a race condition because it works if I set a breakpoint in pdb and step through the test.

Ah-ha! I think I figured out why I am seeing these failures and you guys aren't. I had my VirtualBox VM configured to only have a single CPU. I just increased it to 4 and this test passed. I suspect you will be able to reproduce this failure by using a single CPU system.
