Release notes at https://www-dev.arvados.org/release-notes/2.1.0/, a few suggestions:
- Arvados installations using the “devise-omniauth” SSO server will continue to work, but cluster admins should plan to migrate to one of the built-in authentication methods.
It would be good to be a little more decisive here. Maybe something like this:
Arvados installations using the “devise-omniauth” SSO server will continue to work, but cluster admins should plan to migrate to one of the built-in authentication methods as soon as possible. The "devise-omniauth” SSO server authentication flow is deprecated and will be removed in the 2.2 release. See setting up web based login for details.
- We should mention the new PAM library. Maybe something like
The Python-based PAM package has been replaced with a version written in Go. See using PAM for authentication for details.
- We could call out that webshell exists and is documented.
- arv-copy learned learned some new tricks, right? We could mention that.
- I'd like stop stop building Debian Stretch packages soon. We should mention that the 2.2 release wil no longer have Debian Stretch packages.
