The comment in the example/default config file should also clarify that 2 means write a total of 2 copies, not 1+2=3. Also, replication_desired=0 on a collection in the world where almost all deployments are using cloud buckets and/or filesystems that have their own replication, maybe the default for "DefaultReplication" should mean "default replication", not "no copies of data". be 1.
