Bioconda is a channel for the conda package manager specializing in bioinformatics software. Conda is a rootless package manager that is popular in scientific computing environments where neither root nor containers are available. Bioconda packages are also automatically added to Biocontainers (http://biocontainers.pro) via Mulled (http://biocontainers.pro/docs/developer-manual/developer-intro/)

Some Arvados components are already packaged for it, originally contributed by Brad Chapman:
