[Documentation] recommend ruby2.1 package on debian 8
Added by Peter Amstutz over 9 years ago.
Updated almost 8 years ago.
Description
Debian 8 (Jessie) ships with Ruby 2.1.5. The install documentation should recommend the Ruby package instead of building from source.

I don't think we can use the "system ruby" approach. There are some intervals when Debian ships with a version we can use, but they don't last very long. For example, right now we recommend installing with Ruby 2.3.3 and the latest omniauth gem needs at least 2.1.9, but Debian stable (8) still ships 2.1.5.
